I like what Watain is doing. Everyone has influences. They started off being like you guys, stereotypical idiots wailing away about Satan. Then they realized, “hey, this is kind of gay.” So now, they play good music, with good production quality, and everyone hates it because it doesn’t sound like it was recorded on a cellular phone that was stuck in a dryer, then subsequently burned onto tree-bark CD’s by hand.

I was also at Watain’s gig in Arnhem and I can’t believe i’ll see a band soon wich leaves a whole venue standing there with their mouth open, and not only because they played well.
You could just feel, hear and smell what Erik means in the last question of this interview. And that’s nothing less than total death. Surely a gig wich i won’t forget.
