This past January, MetalKult had the opportunity to catch up with Children of Bodom singer/guitarist Alexi Laiho at the winter NAMM convention in Anaheim, California.

Check out the following interview, in which Laiho describes his latest injuries, the inspiration behind Blooddrunk and how he planned to destroy George Lynch at the NAMM ESP shred-off.

    Alexi is absolutely no doubt the fastest guitarist ever.
    His solos and anything else is absolutley amazing.
    And his signature ESPs are fucking tight.

    i have an ltd version of the alexi-600 (the white one) and i must say it is a beautiful playing and sounding guitar. alexi continues to inspire me to play it everyday without compromise haha. he also inspires me to drink!

    I think that Alexi is a kick ass guitar player and an idiot all at the same time shit or get off the pot any asshole can sit and complain about life a real man seizes reality and takes advantage of his surroundings. I make my world and keep it the way I like it suicide and injuring yourself is for little pussies who just want attention, go out and beat some ass if you are frustrated then you will know what relief is, fucking the next guy right up, thats how roll !

    Gigantour in toronto last night OMG it fuck’n rocked COB is the best fuck’n metal band . It was my first time to the international center After Megadeth i went out the wrong door hopped a gate went pass COB Bus
    and screamed Bodom Bodom !!!!!! hahaha they all looked at me like i was fuck’n crazy . lol it was awsome because i am crazy gave them the goat horns and got them in return . oh fuck yeah . and i just got up fuck i was loaded

    Alexi is so a good guitarist…when I heard him the first time I though: Hey that guy is like Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman in one…WOW!!! He’s very talented, that’s for sure ;)
