SUNN 0))) Announce Pacific Northwest Tour Dates

The power drone crew Sunn O))) have announced the following live performances will be held in the Northwest this coming November:
11/01 Manium//Olympia, WA. w/ Earth, Wolves In The Throneroom, Grey
11/02 Neumos’ //Seattle, WA w/ Jesu and Eluvium
11/03 The Hawthorne //Theater Portland, OR
Joining Sunn 0))) onstage for these performances will be Attila Csihar (ex-Mayhem) on vocals, and Justin Broaderick (ex-Godflesh, Jesu) on guitar and ambience. The shows will come at the end of recording sessions for the forthcoming 2008 full-length release. No further details have been issued at this time.
I do not get this band. People seem to think they’re the shit, but i’ve tried to listen to their music and… I don’t know, I just don’t GET what the big deal is. Everyone in the metal literati seems to write about them as if they are the second fucking coming, but when you actually talk to people in person about them, they’re like “Yeah… I don’t really get them either.” I’m starting to think no one actually likes this band, but it’s just cool to TALK about liking them.

think of it this way,…less is more..then you get sunn O))) any band that breaks the rules is just fine in my book…they create atmosphere….not songs…hmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm……….waaaaaaAAAAAAAAaaaahhhhhhh hmmmMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm….stop taking metal so serious…you silly folk.
I live in Oregon and I’m all over this one….I saw GODFLESH open for SKINNY PUPPY in L.A.
about 8 or 9 years ago and it was insane so I should definitely need to be committed after this!
Well I think its more indie rock kids who really like this stuff. You dont see a huge metal-head contingent at any of their shows and thats fine… I just dont get why someone wouldnt just listen to early Earth records or the Joe Preston/Melvins record both from the early 90’s instead of this. That being said its not bad music at all, just a little theatrical and hokey for my taste.
sunn amps are cool hendrix played one, and with the snowballing metal niche markets booming its good to see something that doesn’t have the cookie cutter affliction.
its funny they don’t have a drummer but they still go out and do shows, that would be alot of pressure, not to just blow it, but i’ll bet they fuck up and nobody even knows, haha
its gotta be the robes everybody like red monk robes.
i just bought there album oracle, and my dog ate the cover, i took it from her, and the next day she dug it out and ate the album cover again, so she likes it and shes a siberian husky, so maybe they have a large siberian fan base we’re not aware of.

the fact that these pompous fuckwads stole both the name AND logo of a once great amplifier speaks volumes about the quality of this band’s music. they’re just hype hype and more hype if you ask me.
If you aren’t smart you won’t get Sunn.
They’re amazing, you’re all fucking idiots.
And by the way, i’m a huge metalhead. I’d say probably more than any of you. And i love Sunn, they’re one of the heaviest bands on the planet.
The reason why people just don’t listen to early Earth albums or other drone/sludge is because people want new things and Sunn is new drone that is fucking amazing. Less is more, accept that.
