EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN: The MetalKult Interview [Parts 1-6]
Since 1980, German experimental band Einstürzende Neubauten (translated “collapsing new buildings”) have traveled a unique sonic path that has included creating power electronic landscapes, dark noise ballads and, most famously, proto-industrial assaults out of metal harvested from junkyards.
On the eve of EN’s latest release, Alles Weider Offen, MetalKult had the opportunity to sit down with singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Blixa Bargeld to discuss his band’s West Berlin history, his work with avant-alternative creative Nick Cave, the theory behind scrap metal sonics and the creation of “unbelievable noise.”

Very cool. My favorite thing on the site thus far. I wish I could embed it in my blog, but I only see the option for “Prefs.” Oh well.
Wow! Didn’t expect to find my favorite band (and I have the tattoo to prove it) here on MetalKult.com, but still a happy find, none the less.
Thanks Guitar World and Metal Kult.
some of the most interesting stuff on here yet. any chance of getting Cevin Key of Skinny Puppy for an interview??

One of my favorite bands. They’re always so willing to push the boundaries. In every way. From their weird instrumentation, to their early disregard for traditional song structure, to their more recent forays into rather romantic melodies in this past decade or so. These guys are just godly!
