Sworn to the Dark

The Swedish horde Watain delivered a gruesome set to a rabid crowd at BB King’s in New York City on May 14, 2007. MetalKult dug in at 10PM, catching openers Nachtmystium and Angelcorpse, and securing prime viewing positions for when Watain hit the stage around 2AM. In the hour that followed, MetalKult, and the throng of hailing fans, bore witness to Watain’s diabolical invocation…and the stench of rotten pig’s blood which clung to them like flies.

In the following clip, see Satanic black metallers Watain as they play the title track off their new album, Sworn to the Dark.

WASP did it better and were more interesting when WATAIN were still playing with Lego :-)

Friggin’ A! Nice live clip of the mighty Watain!

WASP. WATAIN. Apples & oranges. Both edible. Both for different tastes. Both good.

    Up the irons!

Watain is one of the Best Swedish Black Metal Bands .

metal bands need to start singing again and stop screaming there is a lot of talent wasted by having a singer that no one can understand. Ozzy didnt scream and look how huge he is old and still kickin ass

great riffing, i get a behemoth vibe with less density of sound and more understandable vocals. not as brutal in a velocity sort of way but i believe that celtic frost are more brutal by far than alot of bands who feel theyr so fookin tough

Total death? Total chaos? Yeah these guys are so evil, the singer (?) / bass player (?) reminds me of Beetlejuice! Do us all a favour, wrap your patch cords around your necks and jump. Bunch of talentless hacks using a really old and boring gimic! Go on jump! Get the party started!!!!!!!

I watched this after seeing their embarrassing video interview and the talking how extreme their live shows are, etc. Boy, there is nothing scary or extreme about what I see. It’s in fact rather comical how they put on all this seriousness. No spirit, and pure comical heavy metal posing that seems cramped and fucking put on. I don’t understand the hype about these clowns…

I can understand the Behemoth comparison; though Watain is lot darker and a lot better.
