On Friday, June 1, 2007, Emperor played a killer set at B.B. Kings in Times Square—one of only three shows the Norwegian metal group would play in the States.

MetalKult was there and captured the black metal legends in all their glory. Below is a live video from that show of “Curse You All Men!”, the opening track to Emperor’s third LP, IX Equilibrium.

The video player requires Flash 8 Player or later. Please download the latest Flash Player.

Flew all the way from Australia to Wacken (Germany) just for this band in 2006 - The air filled with anticipation during the intro and then into the first track “Into the infinity of thoughts” was amazing almost frightening. Also flew to Norway to immerse myself in the dark grim but inspiring landscapes (fjords) that surround Norway to get some understanding of how these surroundings are interposed into their music. The metal/music world will never see anything like Emperor again. I guess the bands that come close to Emperor deserve alot of merit to be even considered as competition. Cheers to those that witnessed Emperor in the US!!!

I got the honor of seeing them at B.B. Kings Blues Club, their 2nd date back on July 14, 2006. Even though Samoth wasn’t at that show… I was in total awe that I got to see my favorite band play live. I never thought I’d get to. The single greatest performance I’ve ever seen. And to think it would’ve been so much better this past summer with Samoth in the lineup. I regret not going :( This video looked awesome!

Damn, they need to come closer to me, the past couple of years they’ve been too far away for me to go, and I’ve been waiting for the reunion for years.

Oh well, if New York is the closest they get in the next couple of years, I’ll do everything I can to go.
